Battlefield Fighting Championships, a South Korean based MMA promotion, has yet to pay the majority of the fighters who competed in their inaugural event on March 18.

Among the fighters who have yet to get paid are UFC veteran Sarah Kaufman, Invicta FC veteran Jessica-Rose Clark and WSOF veteran Jorge Patino.

Clark took to Facebook to vent her frustrations with the promotion:

"So I still haven't been paid. Which sucks balls. I haven't been able to buy my car cos I was counting on this money to get me there. The worst part of it is my manager gave me enough money out of his own pocket to pay my half of my coaches and my rent and other bills because I put everything on hold for a month counting on that money coming in. So now not only am I out of a vehicle and the money to go home to see my family later in the year, I also owe my manager a tonne of cash cos he tried to help me out. I was going to say that this is the fight game I guess... but in 2017 there is no way this bullshit should still be happening! Hopefully media pressure will get the job done... who knows...SHARE SHARE SHARE AWAY!"

Bloody Elbow reached out to UFC veteran Sarah Kaufman about the situation:

“I’m not sure the exact number of fighters who haven’t been paid. I was told from the promotion there are 7 of us remaining, but I am one of them. I know for sure the top 3 fights on the card — before mine, the co-main and the main — need to be paid. The promotion has mostly stayed in contact with us and has continued to insist we will be paid, but as of yet no money has been wired into my account. I enjoyed fighting for them, but there would have to be some extra stipulations set in place for me to readily accept another fight with them — and that is taking into account me getting paid on this one.”

Representatives of Battlefield FC have yet to comment publicly on the matter, a second event has also yet to be announced.
