Controversy reared its ugly head recently when the authorities were called in Thailand as some USADA officers who were attempting to collect a sample from UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino.
However, despite the police being called on the USADA officers, the women’s featherweight champion still gave her sample and she also fully complied with the USADA representatives.
A USADA spokesperson issued the following statement to MMA Fighting:
“Ms. Justino fully complied with the sample collection process. From collection to delivery, the integrity of the sample was secured, and it is currently being analyzed by the WADA accredited lab in Tokyo. Athletes’ cooperation in providing a requested sample is critical to ensure all athletes’ right to safe and clean sport is protected.”
Cyborg said the exact same thing herself in a Twitter post late last week:
I gave my sample without hesitation. I have no failed whereabouts in the past 12 months and wanted to maintain that despite the incident

The results of that drug test are unknown at this time, but Cyborg has run into problems with USADA in the past.
Although she doesn’t have her next fight lined up at the moment, the UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion has made notions about fighting Holly Holm at UFC 219.
