UFC veteran Valerie Letourneau is going to be making her Bellator MMA debut against Emily Ducote in a women’s flyweight division bout at Bellator 181.
Letourneau (8-6-0) is entering the fight on a three fight losing streak, with those losses coming to Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Joanne Calderwood and Viviane Pereira. Letourneau did challenge for the UFC Women’s Strawweight Title, losing to current champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 193. Letourneau also competed in the first and thus far only women’s flyweight fight in UFC history, losing to Joanne Calderwood at UFC Fight Night 89.
Ducote (5-2-0) has won three of four fights under the Bellator MMA banner, those victories came over Bruna Vargas, Kenya Miranada Da Silva and Katy Collins. Ducote is also a former Xtreme Fight League Women’s Flyweight Champion and a former OKC Fight Night Women’s Flyweight Champion. Ducote will be taking on the first UFC veteran in her seven fight professional MMA career, but this will mark her fifth fight in Bellator MMA.
Bellator 181 takes place on Friday, July 14 from the Winstar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma with Patricky Freire and Derek Anderson headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Spike TV.
