Volkan Oezdemir Obliterates Jimi Manuwa's Title Hopes At UFC 214

Volkan Oezdemir could prove to be a threat to anyone at 205 pounds or higher if things keep going the way they did at UFC 214.

Oezdemir knocked out Jimi Manuwa -- who was widely considered to be the top contender at light heavyweight. In just over 40 seconds, Manuwa was punched loopy, and tried to grapple the ref while gaining consciousness. Oezdemir moved on to 3-0 in the UFC.

Round One: The round begins with Oezdemir attacking Manuwa with leg kicks, the fighters clinch and Oezdemir lands a knee strike. Oezdemir destroys Manuwa with a punching combination that drops him, Oezdemir pounces on a downed Manuwa until he goes out cold.

Official Result: #5 Volkan Oezdemir def. #3 Jimi Manuwa by KO via strikes (0:22, R1)

After the fight, the #5-ranked Oezdemir called out the winner of the evening's main event -- Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier for the UFC Light Heavyweight Title. Oezdemir also formerly competed at Heavyweight.
