Will Ospreay Didn't Like Putting Vader Over

Will Ospreay's 2016 has been an eventful one, highlighted by an outside-the-ring feud with wrestling legend Vader.

Ospreay recently spoke with Sports Illustrated on his feud with Vader, which culminated in a match in August where Vader emerged victorious. Ospreay said he was disappointed with the fact that he had to put Vader over and not the other way around.

"This is a business, and I do what I'm told to do, but I am unhappy about the way it went about," Ospreay said. "The original plan was for me to be over, and it changed the night before because he didn't want to do it. I was a little bit disappointed in the fact that a man like Vader, at the age that he is, refused to put over a guy like me—maybe because I don't fit the mold of what wrestlers look like. I never complain about putting someone over, but this is one time—after the headache that I went through—that I should have gone over."

The feud began when Vader criticized Ospreay and Ricochet's match at the Best of the Super Juniors tournament in Japan earlier this year. The two began jawing at each other over social media until the two men squared off against one another.

The 23-year-old New Japan Pro Wrestling star also spoke about a number of different topics, including interacting with Paul Heyman and competing at WrestleMania one day.
