Joseph Sawyer Wins GCW Title, Drake Wuertz Interferes

Joseph Sawyer captured the GCW World Title at GCW Homecoming night one, defeating Atticus Cogar in the main event.

The main event was filled with surprises, including Max Recon being revealed as the VNDL associate and Drake Wuertz (Drake Younger) helping Sawyer.

The finish saw Sawyer hit the Sister Abigail for the victory.

This is the first reign as GCW World Champion for Sawyer, who wrestled as Joe Gacy in WWE and the independents before signing with WWE. Cogar held the title for 267 days, making 25 successful title defenses.
