Trish Stratus talks about always being keen on making sure that storytelling is intact when she wrestles.

Across her wrestling career, Stratus has been involved in several notable storylines across the early 2000s, returning to WWE on several occasions post retirement for other runs with the company, including feuding with the likes of Becky Lynch and Tiffany Stratton.

While speaking to POST Wrestling in a new interview, Trish Stratus spoke about the importance of keeping storytelling in mind when in the ring, referring back to a storyline with Molly Holly in the early 2000s.

“I mean, I feel like I always kind of like dabbled in it. You know what I mean? I always kind of would like, you know, especially amongst the girls, I’m like, ‘oh, but what if you did this or how would you, you know, think of this?’ I mean, a lot of it, of course, you’re self-centered in a way, like you’re like, ‘what is next for me?’ But I always felt like, especially when we put together matches, I always wanted an element of storytelling, an element of like, let’s think of where this can go. Like even when me and Molly (Holly) did the junk in the trunk thing, like to me, that was really, we’re just, we’re just given this match right? So we’re like, well, we need something like, what are we fighting over? Right? Like I hate you, right? So we tried to find a story, and so sometimes we’re just like grasping, but you know, junk in the trunk, okay. Let’s go with it. You know, like we’re going to do granny panties, but we call it the granny panty spot,  just something to tend to make you stick with the story and get the character and get behind the good guy or the bad guy, whatever we’re trying to do there. So, yeah, no, I’ve always been keen on making sure that, storytelling is intact.”

Elsewhere in another recent interview, Stratus spoke about her WrestleMania 18 match. You can read more about that here.
