Adam Cole: The Idea Of Being Able To Wrestle For NJPW Again Is Very High Up On My List

Adam Cole wants to return to NJPW.

Before signing with WWE in 2017, Adam Cole had started to work with New Japan Pro Wrestling on a frequent basis, even defending his ROH World Championship against Kyle O'Reilly at Wrestle Kingdom 11.

Since signing with AEW in 2021, Cole hasn't made his return to the promotion despite challenging for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at the Forbidden Door event in 2022.

While speaking with Bleacher Report for a new interview, Cole spoke on his desire to return to NJPW.

"The one for sure that I think I would love to do is I definitely want to go back to New Japan. I got the chance to wrestle there a few times and I got to do a Wrestle Kingdom show, which was amazing. But then right as I started going to Japan more often is when I left [for WWE], so I was not able to continue going to Japan. So now that I'm back in All Elite Wrestling, the idea of being able to go over and wrestle for New Japan again is very high up on my list."

Cole, Kyle O'Reilly, and Roderick Strong are set to compete on Wednesday's edition of AEW Dynamite. Check out the current lineup for the show by clicking here.

Fightful will have full coverage of the show as it airs, beginning at 8 p.m. EST.
