Adam Cole wants Johnny Gargano in AEW.
Johnny Gargano and Adam Cole were two of the pillars of NXT for the last 4 years. Having a trilogy of matches for the NXT Championship in 2019, Adam and Johnny will always be linked to one another. Adam and Johnny were even a part of Adam's final WWE content, action figure reveals for the Mattel Elite Squad.
Now, Adam is talking about how that relationship extends beyond the wrestling screen.
Adam Cole said during the Throwing Down podcast with Renee Paquette and Miesha Tate that he will always consider Johnny Gargano one of his greatest rivals and good friends that he'd love to see in AEW.
"I will always mention Johnny Gargano as one of my favorite opponents of all time. We had a series of matches in NXT that, to this day, I'm incredibly proud of. Another fanatic human being, across the board. Johnny is a guy I would really love to see in AEW. Who knows as the wrestling landscape continues to change and evolve."
As for whether or not Johnny will end up in AEW, Adam says they do keep in touch but it's mostly to talk about real-life issues.
"Me and Johnny chat, but more so about real-life stuff. I haven't pressed him too hard about what he wants to do. He has a baby on the way, which is really exciting. I know he's super focused on that, which is cool. I love Johnny to death. I think it would be amazing if he ended up in AEW."
For now, Adam is rejoined in AEW by Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish and they will make their six-man tag team debut on Wednesday, December 29 against Best Friends and Orange Cassidy.
