AEW has done many stunts and used many props during its existence including a helicopter entrance, glass and barbed wire in matches, even setting things on fire.
However, there was one thing that never made it on television.
Speaking at Starrcast, AEW attorney Christopher Peck was asked if there was ever an idea that had to be shot down for television.
"Truly, one of my favorite stories that I tell other lawyers. I got a call, I can't remember who, it was a panicked call. It was maybe ten minutes before showtime. I wasn't in the building and they were panicking. The question was, 'can we bring a hatchet to the ring?' I said, 'A hatchet? What are we doing with a hatchet?' They explained the stunt and I was like, 'No, we can't bring a hatchet to the ring,'" he said.
Peck did not name who wanted to use a hatcher or how it was going to be used.
Fightful will work to find out details on the hatchet stunt that never happened.
