Viewership and ratings for this week's episode of AEW Dynamite and NXT are up to close out September.
According to Showbuzz Daily, the September 30 episode of Dynamite drew 866,000 viewers, which is up from the 835,000 viewers the September 23 episode drew. As for NXT, the show drew 732,000 viewers, which is up from the 696,000 viewers the September 16 episode drew.
For the month of September, AEW averaged roughly 852,666 viewers per episode across six shows, including the one-hour episode of Dynamite on September 22, while NXT averaged 760,800 viewers per episode across five shows. AEW's viewership numbers are up from the month of August when Dynamite averaged 815,250 viewers per episode and NXT performed slightly better in August when it averaged 762,250 viewers per episode.
In the 18-49 demographic, the September 30 episode of Dynamite drew a 0.33 rating, good for 12th-best on cable for the day and up from the 0.32 rating the September 23 episode drew. On the other hand, NXT drew a 0.19 rating, good for 50th best on cable and up from the 0.18 rating the September 23 episode drew. Dynamite also drew a 0.20 rating in the 18-34 demo while NXT drew a 0.11 rating in that same demo. NXT did beat out Dynamite in the 50+ demo (0.37 to 0.34)
AEW Dynamite featured AEW World Champion Jon Moxley defend his title against an opponent of Eddie Kingston's choosing which turned out to be The Butcher. In addition, FTR defended their titles against SCU and Cody accepted Brodie Lee's challenge to a TNT Championship bout in a dog collar match.
This week's NXT was the go-home show for NXT TakeOver 31 with matches, promos and video packages done to hype up the show. In the main event, Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae defeated Damian Priest and Io Shirai in a mixed tag team match.
