Alexa Bliss appreciates having a world class athlete in the women's division.
In an interview with NHL.com, Raw Women's Champion Alexa Bliss took part in the "Five Questions" segment where she discussed her fandom of sports, hockey, and specifically the Columbus Blue Jackets. She was also asked about the attention women have been getting in sports more recently. Bliss said certain women have been in the forefront highlighting what women are capable of in sports.
"We have women who are the forefront and trailing the way for everyone else. I think it's great and it shows women in a different light. Women are getting more respect for honing their craft and knowing what they can do. Even in WWE, women are at the forefront of that with this women's evolution," said Bliss.
After the first ever women's Royal Rumble match, Bliss found herself in the ring with former UFC champion Ronda Rousey. Bliss said Rousey showing up in WWE legitimizes the athleticism of her and her peers.
"Now with having Ronda Rousey, who has made a name for herself with UFC, and bringing her on board with what we do really legitimizes anyone's question for what we do. It is tough and to have someone with her caliber develop and learn shows that it's not easy as people think it is. It shows that we're just as strong the men, we're just as good as the men and now it's our time to show it and prove it," said Bliss.
At WrestleMania 34, Bliss will be defending her Raw Women's Championship against Nia Jax. Fightful Wrestling will have live coverage and a recapping podcast for WrestleMania 34.
