Alicia Atout Says She Was Initially Scared To Return To Work While Still In The Midst Of A Pandemic

Alicia Atout was initially scared to return to work while still in the midst of a pandemic.

Speaking with Spencer Love on the debut episode of his 'The Mind Behind' series, Atout was asked what it has been like to work again after being off for 8 months. MLW returned from a COVID-related shutdown in November 2020 with "The Restart." Court Bauer wrote a letter to fans ahead of that first show detailing all the changes that had been made to revamp the product.

Atout acknowledged that she was initially scared to return. Being the backstage interviewer meant that she would always be in close proximity with other talents, not necessarily an ideal spot when trying to avoid a virus. That said, after all the tests returned negative, she was ready to go and has had a wonderful time ever since.

“It's been super, super fun," said Atout. "I went from March 2020 where we had our huge 5,000-seater full show in Tijuana, Mexico with Triple AAA to literally months and months and months, I think was eight months, until I did anything because of the pandemic last year. So, being able to be back with everyone - we had COVID testing done, so I felt safe. I'm literally this close to everyone when I'm - I'm the promo girl! So I was scared shitless prior, but hey! Everything works out! We got tested. Every, every single person tested negative, which was incredible. So, once that was out of sight, out of mind, I was like sweet, let's do this. So, it was just great having the band back together, seeing which directions they wanted to take things, different storylines and arcs. We did some really fun stuff that has yet to air and I just can't wait to be able to see it. It's been really wonderful working for them. Definitely.”

In addition to her role on MLW television, you can see more of Atout on her YouTube Channel, where The Interview Queen shares wrestling videos - and more - aplenty.
