Apollo Crews was sick of losing and sick of Big E.
After losing to Shinsuke Nakamura and taking another step back in his quest for an Intercontinental Championship rematch, Apollo Crews snapped. Crews attacked Nakamura and seemed ready to inflict serious damage before Big E stepped in.
Unfortunately for Big E, he felt the wrath of Apollo. With his back turned, Apollo cracked Big E with the steel steps. Apollo was going to smash the steps onto the IC Champion once more in the ring, but the referees prevented the attack. Big E rolled to the outside, where Crews tossed the steps onto him.
Big E was put on a stretcher and carried away from ringside.
