For once, Becky Lynch wasn't able to back up her trash talk.
In the opening contest at WWE Royal Rumble, Asuka successfully defended her SmackDown Women's Title by forcing Becky Lynch to tap out to the Asuka Lock. Lynch tried to roll through the submission move, but Asuka managed to bridge up to avoid the pinfall while still keeping the hold locked in. With nowhere to go, Lynch had no choice but to tap out.
