"It was good, congratulations," said Asuka. "I was really happy."

At WWE TLC, Asuka won the SmackDown Women's Title in a triple threat bout against Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. During the bout, Ronda Rousey interfered and helped Asuka capture the gold. Asuka told Tokyo Sports that Rousey's interference would not have changed the result.

Now that she's the SmackDown Women's Champion, Asuka revealed that her next goal is to main event WrestleMania against Ronda Rousey.

"I would like to have a title match at Wrestlemania," said Asuka. She went on to say that she joined WWE in order to "make women's wrestling more recognizable."

Asuka went undefeated in NXT/WWE for 914 days before losing to Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34. She failed to capture the SmackDown Women's Title over the summer during her feud with Carmella. Following the feud with Carmella, she was moved into a tag team with Naomi.
