A match between Carmelo Hayes and Austin Theory was stopped during the January 12 episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown out of concern for the performers' safety.
Carmelo Hayes returned to WWE Friday Night SmackDown on January 12. A meeting he had with Nick Aldis was interrupted by A-Town Down Under (Grayson Waller and Austin Theory) leading to an eventual match between Hayes and Theory.
The match would end prematurely when Theory and Hayes landed awkwardly after an Avalanche Spanish Fly attempt by Theory. After the referee checked on both men, a doctor was called over and the match was subsequently stopped.
Later in the evening, WWE revealed that both men were tested following the contest and both were said to have facial contusions but it was noted that they would both be okay.
UPDATE: Following their match tonight on #SmackDown, @_Theory1 and @Carmelo_WWE were evaluated for injuries. They both suffered face contusions, and will both be okay.
