Autopsy For Shad Gaspard Revealed, Death Ruled An Accident

The autopsy report for Shad Gaspard has been released.

According to The Blast, Gaspard's official cause of death listed in the autopsy is "drowning" and ruled an "accident," further confirming the reports which have surfaced surrounding his tragic death.

In the report, Los Angeles County Coroner's investigators concluded, the "39-year old male was swimming in the ocean on 5/17/2020 with multiple other individuals when lifeguards began assisting swimmers out of the ocean due to a rip current. Witnesses state a wave crashed over the decedent and he was not seen again. On 5/20/20 his body was located not far from where he was last seen alive."

Gaspard went missing on Sunday, May 17 in Venice Beach when he was pulled under by a rip current. Gaspard and his 10-year-old son were swimming when the riptide began and lifeguards rushed to rescue them. Gaspard directed lifeguards to save his son, which they did. Unfortunately, Gaspard was pulled under.

The coast guard and police searched for Gaspard over the next three days but were unable to locate him. His body was found washed ashore on Wednesday morning. Many within the wrestling world mourned over the death and you can check out a compilation of wrestlers remembering Gaspard at this link.
