Awesome Kong is returning to the ring for IMPACT 1000.
IMPACT Wrestling previously announced that IMPACT Hall of Famer Awesome Kong would be at IMPACT 1000. On August 29, the company confirmed that she will return to the ring for the first time in over three years at the event on August 9.
Kong is a two-time TNA Knockouts Champion and a former TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion. She retired from the ring at NWA EmPowerrr on August 28, 2021. Kong was then inducted into the IMPACT Hall of Fame at Bound for Glory 2021.

Kong has not wrestled since an AEW Dark taping in January 2020. She last wrestled on TV on the December 18, 2019, episode of AEW Dynamite, where she beat Miranda Alize.
