Axel Tischer And Big Damo Reunite At PROGRESS Wrestling Chapter 150: When The Man Comes Around

A partial SAnitY reunion happened at PROGRESS Wrestling Chapter 150: When The Man Comes Around.

At the PROGRESS show at Electric Ballroom in Camden Town, London, on February 26, Big Damo lost the PROGRESS Atlas Championship to Ricky Knight Jr. However, Axel Tischer made his way to the ring to congratulate Damo on his recent success. The moment marked a noteworthy reunion for Tischer and Damo, as they were once stablemates in SAnitY.

Willow Nightingale: I Know I Can Win Owen Hart Foundation Women's Tournament, I'm Going To AEW All In

In an interview after the show, Wolfe and Damo discussed their reunion. Tischer noted that they were never apart; the way they see it, they just went on different journeys. He recalled how they first got back together in May 2022 and teamed up in the aftermath of the Atlas Tournament. Tischer described how they evolved as singles competitors during their time away from each other. Both men made it clear that they're eager to face some of the top teams in PROGRESS. Damo then detailed how their real bond made him excited to start teaming up again.

Axel Tischer: [It was the first time we had teamed up in] three years, after we got let go. Since then, we evolved both as singles competitors, but then because we evolved as singles competitors, I think we now [are] better than before, and we proved it in November, when we beat our opponents as well, fair and square. Now, it’s time for us getting together officially [and] to start mixing it up with all the great tag teams of professional wrestling, specially in PROGRESS.

Big Damo: Right now, we’ve got two right here, incredible. Lykos Gym may have turned over a new leaf but still need a good kick in the face. Sunshine Machine, they’re the boys. We’re in a really good position right now because listen, Axel and I were both singles wrestlers before we went to WWE, and we learned to be a tag team together, and it was one of the coolest experiences for me personally because we weren’t just a tag team on-screen, we weren’t just a tag team in-ring, we were a tag team the entire time, whether it was in a car or we’d split a room together. [We were] road wives.

Tischer also highlighted their genuine friendship as an important aspect of their tag team. When asked about their goals, he stated that the sky is the limit, and he's confident they can draw some attention to PROGRESS. In doing so, he expressed his view that it's a win-win situation, as both sides benefit, and he and Damo are focused on being successful together.

AT: The sky’s the limit. I believe there’s a good working relationship. We had our success as a team, we traveled the world, literally, being part of Sanity and being a tag team, and to bring all our experience and all our accolades to this promotion, and also for having PROGRESS as the promotion in the UK behind us, it’s a good working relationship. I believe we can draw attention to this company, and also mixing it up with great tag teams. In the end, it will be a nice play-by-play for PROGRESS and us. But for us, it’s more important that we be successful together again. If that’s the place to be, with PROGRESS, we are looking forward to that, so we’re super hyped for this situation we are in right now. We put ourselves in this situation because the thought we had about that was clear, and we’re confident enough to put our names [out] and be successful again.

Damo then made it clear that he and Tischer want to help young talent, and they're both determined to make PROGRESS the place to be. At the same time, they have their sights set on the PROGRESS Tag Team Championship, as they aim to represent the company around the world.

BD: Axel and I both have a real passion for helping younger talent, and one of the best things about coming to PROGRESS is there’s just eons of incredible talent here, and for the ones who want to come pick our brains, and it’s happened plenty of times, we’re more than happy to help. We want to build this into the brand, we want to build this into the company, we want to build this into the place that people want to come to. We want to come here, we want to be here as much as possible. So our goal is to make that worldwide. Our first step is gonna be the tag division, and then we’re gonna represent PROGRESS all across the world as the PROGRESS Tag Team Champions, the world tag team champions.

SAnitY formed in WWE NXT in 2016; the group initially included Alexander Wolfe (Tischer), Sawyer Fulton, Eric Young, and Nikki Cross. When Fulton went down with an injury in November 2016, Killian Dain (Damo) later took his place. During their run, Wolfe and Young won the NXT Tag Team Championship.

The group moved up to SmackDown in 2018, but they struggled to find success before they broke up in 2019. WWE released Young in April 2020 and Tischer the following May. Damo was released in a wave of cuts on June 25.
