Bandido's Ring of Honor debut is set.
ROH announced that Bandido will make his ROH debut on Jan. 12 in Atlanta, GA as part of ROH's international television tapings. He is also scheduled to appear the next night in Concord, NC at ROH's Honor Reigns Supreme event. No opponents have been given.
Bandido, one of pro wrestling’s hottest free agents, has signed with Ring of Honor and will make his highly anticipated debut with The Best Wrestling on the Planet in January, ROH officials have announced.
The charismatic high-flyer will be in Atlanta on Jan 12 for an international television taping, and then in Concord, N.C., on Jan. 13 for Honor Reigns Supreme, which will stream live worldwide for HonorClub, in addition to all announced ROH events in the U.S.
A fourth-generation wrestler, Bandido has made a name for himself around the globe. In addition to wrestling in his native Mexico, the 23-year-old luchador has competed extensively in Japan as well as the UK, Australia and on U.S. independents, most notably Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.
In September, Bandido competed in PWG’s Battle of Los Angeles and advanced to the finals, where he was defeated by current ROH World Television Champion Jeff Cobb. Earlier that month, he teamed with fellow masked stars Rey Mysterio and Fenix against The Golden Elite (The Young Bucks and Kota Ibushi) in the main event of the All In pay-per-view.
Bandido undoubtedly will be looking to show ROH fans in Atlanta and Concord that he is every bit as good as advertised. He will have a target on his back, however, as there will be no shortage of worthy competitors who would love nothing more than to spoil the heralded star’s ROH debut.
Bandido signed a full-time deal with ROH earlier this month. He is also scheduled to compete at PWG's Hand of Doom event on Jan. 18.
