Bayley explains why it was important for her to be at Mercedes Mone's AEW debut.
Mercedes Mone made her AEW debut at AEW Dynamite Big Business, embarking on a new chapter in her career. WWE superstars Bayley, Tamina, and Naomi attended the show, but weren't shown on camera. They did post a video on social media, jokingly masking up so they wouldn't be spotted.
Speaking to Stephanie Chase of Digital Spy, Bayley explained why it was important for her to be there for her best friend Mercedes.
"[Mercedes] is the best, I wouldn't be here without her," Bayley said. "She's done so much for me. Even after she was done with WWE, she's been there for me in my big moments. So I know I need to be there for her continuously throughout the years. It was incredible, I'm just happy that she was on a Wednesday where I'm like, 'alright, I can actually make a Wednesday, that's one of our few days off.' It was really special to see her celebrate with her family and her friends and people she started wrestling with and see her welcomed by a new family. It's bittersweet, but I'm very, very proud of her and just so grateful we got to be there."
Bayley and Mercedes (Sasha Banks in WWE) made plenty of memorable moments in WWE, from stealing the show at NXT TakeOver Brooklyn to winning the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles.
Bayley is set to challenge for the WWE Women's Championship against IYO SKY at WrestleMania 40.
