WWE Raw added more depth to their women's division this past Monday when former Raw Women's Champion Bayley made her return in her hometown of San Jose, California.
The 28-year old Bayley has been out of action since July 31, when she injured her shoulder against Nia Jax during a match on Raw. She was originally slated to compete for the WWE Raw Women's Championship at Summerslam, but was pulled and replaced as she was unable to perform.
Bayley appeared after the conclusion of Nia Jax's win over current champion Alexa Bliss. Bayley would attack Nia Jax and later Bliss before embracing longtime friend and rival Sasha Banks. The two celebrated in the ring after the double team beating on Bliss, who tried to join in on the fun.
Despite Bayley's absence from Raw, she hasn't been completely off of WWE television programming. After her August 7 farewell, she made several appearances in WWE digital segments, as well as the Mae Young Classic, which were all filmed prior to her injury. Bayley was a focal point in some of the confrontations between the "MMA Horsewomen" and the "pro wrestling Horsewomen."
Shortly after the appearance on Monday, WWE announced that Bayley would be added to the Raw Women's Championship match at WWE No Mercy.
While the WWE No Mercy showdown was originally intended to be a one-one-one clash between Alexa and Sasha, Emma and Nia overcame The Boss and the titleholder in a tag team bout to make it a Fatal 4-Way Match. Emma claims to be instrumental in bringing about the Women’s Revolution, and she will surely be hungry to solidify her place at the top of the mountain Sunday night.
But wait, there’s more. Less than a week before WWE No Mercy, Bayley returned in her hometown of San Jose, Calif., making the bout a Fatal 5-Way Match.
