Becky Lynch has made no secret about her desire to main event WrestleMania 35. The former SmackDown Women's Champion has been very vocal in believing that she and Ronda Rousey should close the biggest event of the year.
Appearing on the Edge & Christian Pod of Awesomeness, Lynch continued her online campaign and challenged anyone on the roster to step up to prove her wrong.
"It's not about gender. Who are the most popular and interesting superstars that we have on the roster? Right now, I can't think of two people that have higher ratings and interest than myself and Ronda. For that reason, and that reason alone, we should be the main event. If anyone else can step up and drum up as most interest in the meantime, please have it. But it's not gonna happen because that's my spot and I'm not gonna let anyone else take it," Lynch said. "You can be the chosen one all you'd like. We are out there in front of thousands of people a night and millions on television. They should be the people that choose the main event of WrestleMania. And that's what they've done."
Jim Ross expressed a similar sentiment, saying that the male WWE superstars don't have enough momentum to headline WrestleMania 35.
Lynch lost the SmackDown Women's Title to Asuka at Sunday's WWE TLC event in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs bout that also featured Charlotte Flair. Lynch and Charlotte were battling at the top of the ladder when Rousey came out and shoved both competitors off the ladder.
