Becky Lynch isn't worried about whether or not she's main eventing WrestleMania because she knows her story is better.
Kevin Owens has referred to his segment with Steve Austin as the main event of WrestleMania while Ronda Rousey has said that she'll be main eventing WrestleMania Saturday when she challenges Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women's Championship.
Becky, the reigning Raw Women's Champion who will defend her title against Bianca Belair on WrestleMania Saturday, knows she is going to steal the show regardless of match placement.
"It makes no difference. They can go on later. I don't think they're the main event. My match is going to steal the show, my match is going to be better, my story has been better. Everything I've done has been better. That's not even a question. Not one single person, unless you're an idiot, can say their stuff has been better than mine. That doesn't bother me. Wherever they go, even if they do go last, I don't care, my stuff is better and the real main event," she told Ariel Helwani. "Story-wise, the only two women to have ever won the main event of WrestleMania, main eventing WrestleMania, going on last, that would be the perfect story. Two losers main eventing WrestleMania, two main event losers, main eventing WrestleMania, sure. One, you feel like it's a token gesture that they're going on last because of Ronda's name. I don't think anybody thinks that their story is better and that they deserve it."
Rousey returned to WWE at Royal Rumble, winning the women's Royal Rumble, allowing her to choose her opponent at WrestleMania 38. After teasing a match with Lynch, Rousey ultimately chose Charlotte.
When asked how Rousey is doing, four months after delivering her child, Lynch replied, "Not as good as me. In terms of juggling it all, anybody who is able to go out there in front of people and you're able to preform in front of people and you have a baby that is possibly not sleeping and you're traveling millions of miles, getting out in front of the curtain, that's juggling it all. Putting one foot in front of the other, that's juggling it all. Are you excelling at it? That's a different story. I'm excelling at it."
Lynch continued by saying, "I don't think she's returned to that level. She may have needed a bit more time. Again, if you have a child and you're coming back after four months, that is an incredible task. An incredible feat, but sometimes you need a bit more time, especially if you haven't been doing this for years upon years upon years. I don't know what her headspace is, but I imagine that she's not watching everything that is wrestling-related on TV, that she's not marinating about it every second of every day when she's not with her baby, that she's not talking to her husband. Nearly every conversation, 'how do we make this industry better? How do we make ourselves better? How would this match be better?' If you're not completely immersed in it...she does have a ring on her doorstep, I'm just saying, possibly a bit more time would have been helpful for her. I think she loved it as a fan. I do think she loved it as a fan. I've said this to Bianca and I'll say it to Ronnie, 'You can be a fan or you can be The Man,' you want to be The Man, especially if you're in this business. When she came in originally, maybe there was more of a love for it because she came from that fan's eyes. Now, maybe there is a little bit content. Maybe her priorities have shifted. She knows her baby is more important. Our babies are always going to be more important, of course, but maybe when she has that love is transferred there, as opposed to marrying the two loves."
Lynch has said that she believes her match with Rousey is being held off to WrestleMania 39 in Hollywood. You can find her full comments by clicking here.
