Big E: Roman Reigns Is At The Top Of The Industry, Going After Him Is How You Establish A Legacy

Big E is set to compete in his first-ever Money in the Bank on July 18. Big E qualified for the match by defeating Intercontinental Champion Apollo Crews.

Big E has had an up-and-down 2020, which began with him holding the Intercontinental Title, but has stopped and start during his feud with Apollo Crews and the fallout.

"I felt like I was in a good position through WrestleMania and after WrestleMania, things definitely slowed down. I have some momentum to regain. That's my hope at Money in the Bank. All is forgiven, damn near, when you have that briefcase. Everything else is forgotten about, the last couple of months," Big E told Ryan Satin on Out of Character.

Many fans are rooting for Big E to come away with the briefcase and have fantasy booked scenarios where he cashes in on Bobby Lashley, who is currently feuding with Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston, or possibly Kingston should he win the WWE Title from Lashley at WWE Money in the Bank.

Big E says he appreciates that people are rooting for him and coming up with ideas, but he only has one plan should he win the briefcase.

"I feel like I'm cowardly if (I cash in on Kofi). Roman has been the guy. He's been the name I've been speaking the entire time, this whole singles run. For me to go after Kofi or Bobby, it all feels murky. It isn't taking away what Bobby has done at all, but Roman has had an incredible year and he's the guy. He's the guy at the top of our industry right now. Everyone has different opinions on who 'the guy' is, but to me, he's easily doing the best work of his career and I don't think that's debatable. Why not go after the top of the industry? That's how you establish a legacy," he said.

While Big E will compete in the Money in the Bank ladder match, Reigns is set to defend his Universal Title against Edge at WWE Money in the Bank.
