During the AEW Revolution post-show media scrum, Tony Khan informed fans that Big Swole had been out of action following a flare-up with Crohn's disease.
Swole missed two months of action from January to March after the flare-up. She provided an update on her status to fans on March 8, discussing what she goes through and thanking fans for their support. You can find her full post by clicking here.
To celebrate 4/20, Swole revealed that medical marijuana has helped her manage the disease.
She wrote on Instagram, "I’ve been getting a lot of questions about how I managed my Crohn’s Disease while wrestling. My Crohn’s is very aggressive so I was referred by my physician to try medical cannabis. For me, this decision was best for my recovery. I honestly believe I wouldn’t have been able to get through this past year w/o it. My pain has nearly subsided, my appetite is revived and my overall happiness has increased. It may not be for you but it’s worth a look!"
Swole has been back in action since March, appearing regularly on AEW Dark and AEW Dark: Elevation.
She is set to team with KiLynn King to take on Ashley & Steff MK on the April 20 episode of AEW Dark. You can view the full lineup for the show by clicking here.
