Bobby Lashley On His MMA Career: When I Got Into It, It Wasn't Just About Making It To A Certain Level

Bobby Lashley explains what motivated him in his MMA career.

As well as being a successful pro wrestler, Bobby Lashley has used his experience in amateur wrestling to pave a successful career in mixed martial arts, fighting for Bellator previously. Lashley has also called out Brock Lesnar on more than one occasion for a bout.

While speaking to RJ City on the latest episode of Hey! (EW), Bobby Lashley discussed his career in MMA and how he went about pursuing glory in the octagon.

"For me, when I got into it, it wasn't just about making it to a certain level. When I get into something, I actually want to be a student of the game. I open up a gym. So I actually put myself into it. So I've learned all aspects of it. I'm the type that I'm okay with taking a back seat to not knowing everything. So I fought for 10 years. In that time, I was training at all kinds of different gyms and I ran my own gym. So I was a student of the game. So it's something that I still want to pursue. I'm going to do a boxing match or a fight still."

Lashley would go on to have a 15-2 record in MMA.

Elsewhere in the same interview, Shelton Benjamin reflected on the OVW class of 2002. You can read more about that here.
