Booker T gives Sexyy Redd props.

Sexyy Red appeared on the May 28 episode of WWE NXT and unveiled the NXT Women's North American Championship. She also got involved in the main event match, and it was announced that she was the host of NXT Battleground. Throughout the show, NXT commentator Booker T was clearly excited about Sexyy Red's presence.

Speaking on The Hall of Fame podcast, co-host Brad Gilmore joked that he was making sure that Booker T's heart rate had subsided after NXT.

“I want to let Sexyy Red know the big dog, he ain’t on no medication [laughs]. It’s been a great start of a week," Booker T said.

Booker T went on to discuss Sexyy Red's appearance on NXT as he was asked to comment on his reaction to finding out that she would be involved.

"Sexyy Red blew up the scene, man. I used to raise the roof, but she blew the damn roof off, you feel me? [Laughs] I found out the week before Sexyy Red was coming. I didn’t know exactly what kind of role she was gonna play or anything like that. I didn’t know she was going to be the host of Battleground. I didn’t know any of that, but honestly, I didn’t have any inclination of even what I was going to say about Sexyy Red before I saw, I swear to god. But she did a good job, I’m gonna say that right now. There’s people on the Internet, people always want to hate, people say we had bring some celebrity to NXT to pop the crowd, but NXT’s been popping the crowd for quite some time. Sexyy Red was just icing on the cake. I think Sexyy Red actually started it because she said something about Trick online, and then boom, it just gravitated from that point right there and everything went to fruition as far as Sexyy Red, as far as Sexyy Red being on the scene. But me personally, I love having some celebrity, some people from different genres come inside and play a role. Really, she’s not from this wrestling world, she’s a fan. But I must give her her props, she did a damn good job at what she had to do, and she pulled it off. Sexyy Red, Sexyy Red, shake it real fast, get a little more, [Laughs]" Booker T said.

Gilmore then wondered whether NXT's Lola Vice may have been upset that Sexyy Red twerked on the show, as that has become part of her gimmick. Booker jokingly suggested a dance-off before he spoke highly of Vice and said that he liked working with her.

“I could see a dance-off coming. [Laughs] I’m serious, man. [Laughs] Do it, do it now. Nah, man. Ain’t no infringement when it comes to twerking [laughs]. You just gotta let it go. Lola Vice, she’s a damn good entertainer, she’s a damn good performer. Big ups. She’s the real deal. That’s what I love about Lola Vice. She’s definitely made this transition as far as really taking it serious, going out there and really thinking about the in-ring IQ. Lola Vice is definitely one of my favorites, I love working with Lola on a weekly basis, seriously," Booker T said.
