Booker T has been on a mission to get booked for the WWE Royal Rumble. He initially gave WWE a week to call him about the Royal Rumble, where he said he was willing to work the Rumble match or a tag team match against The Revival.
On a recent episode of his WWE Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T provided an update on his Royal Rumble status.
"I got a call about the Royal Rumble. They said I'm gonna be working. I'm gonna be doing the Kickoff show. They may have a couple of other things for me to do. But right now, I have gotten no word on should I bring my gear? Should I be prepared to lace the boots up? Should I be prepared to get in the ring and go 60-minutes, all night long, and a little bit longer? NOBODY HAS TOLD ME ANYTHING LIKE THAT! My thing is this, I'm on a mission. An impossible mission. The mission is; to be a part of the Royal Rumble. I just heard Brock Lesnar, first entry into the Royal Rumble. Just put me in at number two. I'm ready to romp and stomp and bring it like old school. I've been training hard. Right now, I'm ready to step on some toes and keep on walking," he said.
On The Revival, Booker said he doesn't need to wait until the Rumble to catch them.
"It aint gotta be The Royal Rumble. The Revival. Just let me catch those two suckas walking down the street in [Houston]. Trust me, I'm gonna run up on them and drop them. In the ring or out of the ring."
After then saying WWE has 15-minutes to call him or he won't take the booking, Booker broke and said WWE can call him whenever and he'll be ready. On WWE Backstage, Booker and Miz joked that if WWE called Booker an hour before the Rumble, he would agree to do the show. Booker confirmed that would be the case.
As of now, Booker has not been confirmed for the Rumble, which takes place in his hometown of Houston, TX.
