Brian Gewirtz Says Hulk Hogan Will Not Appear In 'Who Killed WCW?' But His POV Is Represented

Brian Gewirtz says Hulk Hogan was not part of "Who Killed WCW?"

The new docuseries "Who Killed WCW?" premiered on VICE on June 4. The four-part series, which is produced by The Rock's Seven Bucks Productions, interviewed many names from WCW history, but one name that will be absent is Hulk Hogan.

"We did reach out to Hulk. He is not appearing in the documentary to talk. He couldn't do it. We tried on both sides. It didn't work out. His POV is pretty much...a lot of people have a lot of opinions on him and talk about him. Some positive, some negative. His POV is definitely represented on the show. Obviously, him and Eric are very close and Eric can speak to a lot of Hogan's POV at the time, both in terms of signing him, the heel turn, the botched finished with Sting, the match with Goldberg, the Finger Poke of Doom, Bash at the Beach, all of that stuff it pretty well covered. He's not physically talking on the show, but he's definitely represented," Brian Gewirtz said on Cheap Heat with Peter Rosenberg.

Gewirtz said he didn't know why Hogan didn't want to participate, but theorized that VICE did a documentary titled "The Nine Lives of Hulk Hogan" and he may have not wanted to work with VICE.

Hogan helped lead WCW to new heights when he signed with the promotion in 1994 and turned heel to form the NWO in 1996. He was also part of the downfall with the Finger Poke of Doom and Bash at the Beach 2000.
