Britt Baker is a dentist, but she wasn't the first dentist to become a professional wrestler. The most famous dentist turned wrestler is Isaac Yankem DDS, Jerry Lawler's hired driller to takeout Bret Hart during the mid-90s.
Yankem's WWE run didn't last too long and the man sporting the yellow teeth would find better success behind a mask, but his impact on the wrestling and dentist community will not be forgotten.
"When I first started working on the Indies, at least five times a show people were like, 'Are you Isaac Yankem's daughter?' .....No, I'm not. How could you not draw the similarities there? I would like to think it's a little bit different, I would hope people think it's a little bit different," Baker told Chris Van Vliet.
Since debuting in AEW, the company has constantly reminded fans that Baker is a dentist. Fans grew tired of the reminder when Baker was a babyface, but as a heel, it suits her perfectly.
"Now, I'm allowed to really over-exaggerate my accomplishments as a heel. It's so much fun because you're being ridiculous and over the top but it's bringing more of my outside life in, just in a different way. In a way, I would never normally talk about myself."
She added, "Dentists are nice people, we just want to help you."
Baker also noted that she's gotten more wrestling fans visiting her recently due to her popularity in AEW and appreciates when fans are respectful when visiting.
