Although Britt Baker is one of the top stars of AEW, her parents weren't exactly 100 percent on board with her pursuing a wrestling career.
Whenever Baker is wrestling on AEW Dynamite on TNT, she is working as a dentist, striking a balance between the two careers. During an interview with Bleacher Report, Baker admitted that her parents were not thrilled when they found out she wanted to wrestle along with being a dentist, worried that wrestling will jeopardize her other career.
"I was so terrified that my parents were going to hate this that I didn't tell them for five months," Baker said. "I was correct. They were less than thrilled. It's not that they were especially discouraging. It's just what every parent would say. 'Britt, you have a guaranteed successful career ahead of you. You've been accepted into one of the best dental schools in the world. You could get hurt in the wrestling ring and your dental career could be done. Do you understand what you're doing?'"
Baker had to juggle both dental school and wrestling for years and even shared a funny anecdote about using wrestling to keep her sane during her years of dental school. Despite having wrestling as a distraction, Baker added that those years in school were the hardest of her life.
"Wrestling kept me sane during dental school," Baker says. "That was the hardest time of my life, and I don't know how I would have made it without the distractions of wrestling to keep me afloat. I would be sitting in the back of my dental implants class, secretly watching Raw from the night before while trying to pay attention in class.
