Bronson Reed wasn't supposed to hit six tsunamis on Seth Rollins.
On the August 4 edition of WWE Raw, Bronson Reed shocked the world by destroying Seth Rollins with not one, not two, not three, but six tsunamis. As a result of the attack, Rollins was sidelined from WWE TV for weeks until he made his return to the company on the September 30 edition of WWE Raw.
While speaking to Chris Van Vliet for a new interview, Bronson Reed revealed that he was originally supposed to hit a significantly less amount of tsunamis on Rollins.
"No [laughs]. I think it was supposed to be significantly less. The way it turned out, with Hunter’s vision, it was more and more and more. It was one of those things where you listen to the audience and you can feel a change in the audience as I was doing it. I hit the first two, they started booing. It looked like that was it. I go up for the third one. ‘What the hell is going on here?’ I go up for the fourth one and by the fifth one they’re chanting for more. It’s bloodlust amongst the crowd, for someone that they love as well. They love Seth Rollins. I’m glad it ended up working where, after the sixth one, I left and they still were singing his music that he comes out to. It worked. As much as they love someone like Seth Rollins or any of the top guys, that move has its own lore. If you get to see it live, it’s different than seeing it on TV. It’s very impactful. To hit six in a row, which I’ve never done, is a lot.(asked when he has to tell Seth he’s doing more)As it’s happening. It’s one of those things where he has to be willing to be there and I have to be willing to do more. It definitely worked out and made for a great moment in television. I had so much buzz around that and people online saying they haven’t seen something like that where you take someone and propel them in one night and one segment. Just brutality."
Elsewhere in the interview, Reed said that he should've made his return to WWE with an attack of that magnitude. Learn more about those comments by clicking here.
Rollins recently challenged Reed to a future match. Learn more about the segment here.
