Bryan Danielson provides an update on his arm injury.
Bryan Danielson suffered a broken arm at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door while wrestling Kazuchika Okada. He would return to the ring at AEW All Out in a Strap Match against Ricky Starks and has continued to work despite his injury ever since.
During a recent interview with Sports Nightly, Danielson provided an update on his injury, revealing that with the metal rod in his arm, it could actually be easier to suffer another break where the rod ends.
"It's doing okay. I think by continually wrestling on it, I'm slowing it down from healing 100%. Us older wrestlers like to say, we never anticipated being 100% ever again. So I think that's kind of where I'm at. It's fully functional. I can do pull-ups and I can do all these different sorts of things," he said. "There's nothing that's going to happen to the bone because they put a rod in it with nine screws. The dangerous part, the doctor said, is actually where, if it were to break again, it's easier to break where the rod ends, because the rod itself acts as a fulcrum that it could bend against. But then really, it's like the nerve and muscle damage. Part of that is because I wrestled for 10 minutes with a broken arm and then part of it is just the work that we do."
Danielson's arm has been a natural target in all of his matches since returning to action, most recently it was the target of Christian Cage's offense during their match for the TNT Title on the October 14 AEW Dynamite. Check out the full results of the event here.
Danielson has also gone on record as saying that this is his last year as a full-time wrestler but he doesn't think he will ever fully retire. Learn more here.
