Bryan Danielson: I Sincerely Hope That Claudio Castagnoli Gets A Run As AEW World Champion

Bryan Danielson wants to see Claudio Castagnoli get a world title run.

Claudio Castagnoli, formerly known as Cesaro in WWE, has long been viewed as one of the most underrated wrestlers in the business. He never got a world title run in WWE, but he has held the world title twice in ROH since he signed with AEW in 2022.

Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Bryan Danielson stated that he wanted to see Claudio Castagnoli win the AEW World Championship.

“I would love to see Claudio as world champion. He’s one of the best I’ve ever been in the ring with," Danielson said.

Danielson also spoke highly of Castagnoli's run as ROH World Champion. He stated that he was in awe of Castagnoli's matches and reiterated his hope that his stablemate would get a run as AEW World Champion before he retired.

“I thought his Ring of Honor world title run was really special. I watched all of his matches, and I was in awe of it–as many people often are when they watch Claudio wrestle. I sincerely hope that Claudio gets a run as AEW world champion before he hangs it up. He would make the most of that opportunity," Danielson said.

Danielson and Castagnoli will be in action on the June 15 episode of AEW Collision. Check out the card here.
