Buddy Murphy Drops First Name Again, Now Just 'Murphy'

Buddy Murphy is no longer your buddy, guy.

Yes, Seth Rollins’ top disciple on Monday Night Raw is once again dropping his first name and only going by Murphy. He previously dropped his first name during his initial running NXT as a tag team with Wesley Blake.

When Buddy Murphy moved to 205 Live as a singles competitor, he resumed using his first name. Murphy would then go on to have a successful run as a Cruiserweight Champion which ended at WrestleMania last year when he was defeated by Tony Nese.

Following that, he would subsequently be drafted to SmackDown where he was allowed to shine in a match against Roman Reigns during the summer of 2019 and then he would be drafted to Raw this past October where he is now one-half of the WWE Raw Tag Team Champions along with Seth Rollins.

Time will tell if this move sticks as Apollo Crews and Mustafa Ali have both lost their first names and also had them added back into their presentation later on during their career.

Murphy along with Akam and Rezar of the authors of pain can be seen alongside Seth Rollins every Monday night on WWE Raw.
