Caleb Konley Says Jeff Jarrett Is To Blame For The Return Of The 'Suicide' Gimmick In IMPACT

Caleb Konley discusses portraying the character of Suicide for a time in IMPACT.

Suicide was the first character created for a wrestling video game that would later make the jump into the actual world of professional wrestling.

Created for the 2008 TNA IMPACT! video game, Suicide was the main character players used throughout the story mode in the video game and he later made the jump into TNA, capturing the X-Division Championship a few times along the way.

Sometimes, suicide was portrayed by Christopher Daniels other times it was rumored to be Frankie Kazarian. When TJP portrayed the character, Suicide's name was briefly changed to Manik. However, Caleb Konley was rumored to have worn the mask during one of the more recent returns of Suicide in 2016.

During a recent appearance on The A2theK Wrestling Show, Caleb reflected on his time as the character, blaming Jeff Jarett for its return.

“That is a rumor. I’ve heard that from time to time. I’ve never met the guy personally, but I know that he was pretty stoked to come back in 2016, 2017," said Kaleb in jest. “Jeff Jarrett is completely to blame for Suicide returning, he’s probably to blame for all of the Suicide stuff, honestly, I don’t know. I was just hanging out at home waiting for an opportunity to come my way and they had me under contract. I got a call one day, and they said, ‘Do you want to do this?’. It was cool. At times it seemed directionless, but at the same time because of Suicide, I got to wrestle in Australia, I got to a couple of tours of England out of it, I got to wrestle in India for IMPACT, I got to see a whole lot of the world because of this dumb masked character."

Suicide would become the star of the only game in TNA/IMPACT Wrestling history as Midway Games would go out of business shortly after announcing plans for a sequel.

Elsewhere in this interview, Caleb talked about the end of his most recent run in IMPACT. Read more here.
