Not only is she "The Most Beautiful Woman In All Of WWE," but Carmella might also be the most gracious.
On October 21, WWE will present its Crown Jewel event. One of the main attractions of the show is a SmackDown Women's Championship match between Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, and Bianca Belair. Appearing as a guest on WWE After The Bell with Corey Graves, Carmella shared her thoughts on the bout and its competitors.
"I'm personally excited for Bianca, Becky, and Sasha. Those girls are going to steal the show," she said.
The current SmackDown Women's Champion, Becky Lynch, returned this past August at SummerSlam, defeating Bianca Belair in 26-seconds to win the belt. The Man had been off TV since May 2020, when she announced her pregnancy. She filled in for Sasha Banks at the event, after she was pulled due to unforeseen circumstances. Before Lynch came out, however, it was Carmella who was teased as being Bianca's replacement opponent.
According to Carmella, if she hadn't come out first, she's not sure Becky would have gotten the reaction that she did.
"It was crazy," she began by saying. "I watch them doing packages now and they just write me out of this history. First of all, I was part of this huge moment at SummerSlam. If my music had not hit initially, then I don't think Becky would have gotten the reaction she did. I'm going to say that. I know that's pretty cocky to say, but if Becky's music hit first, would she have gotten a great reaction? Of course, she's Becky Lynch. However, when my music hit, they were so mad. I'm walking down the aisle, taking my sweet time and relishing in this moment. So, when Becky's music hit, it made it that much bigger. I'm proud of that moment."
Despite the WWE Universe's excitement to see Lynch, the style in which she returned (being a heel, winning so quickly), did leave some with a bitter taste in their mouths. If you ask Carmella, though, that's just wrestling Twitter.
She concluded by sharing who she hopes to see emerge victoriously at Crown Jewel.
"It's insane. That's Twitter for you. 'We want Becky, we want Becky,' now we have her, 'Ah, we didn't want her like that.' Sorry, you can't have your cake and eat it too, but that is wrestling Twitter. I'm excited for that match, those girls are going to tear it down, and I kinda want to see Bianca walk out as champion," Carmella shared.
Carmella defeated Zelina Vega in the semi-finals of the Queen's Crown tournament on last night's episode of SmackDown. She face either Shayna Baszler or Doudrop on October 21 at Crown Jewel.
This also marked Carmella's final time on SmackDown, for the time being, as she was drafted by RAW in the WWE Draft. The new rosters will take effect beginning on October 22.
