Carmella explains why she likes playing her character on Smackdown.
The Smackdown Women's Champion has an upcoming title defense against Asuka and has been champion since cashing in her Money in the Bank briefcase against Charlotte Flair. In an interview with Telegram which highlighted Carmella's hometown roots she explained how her onscreen character does not reflect who she really is but she enjoys playing it up on television.
“(Carmella) not afraid to speak what’s on her mind. She’s very, very full of herself," said Carmella. “I love it. I love to be talky and tell everyone how good I am. I can kind of relate to that just a little bit. In everyday life it’s not something I would normally do, but there’s a little bit of the real Carmella inside of Carmella," she later added.
Asuka and Carmella will be wrestling in a singles match at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view on June 17th. The pay-per-view also features the Raw Women's Championship match and a Money in the Bank ladder match which gives eight women (four from Smackdown) a chance at a anytime, anywhere title match.
Fightful Wrestling will have live coverage and a recapping podcast for Money in the Bank.
