Charlotte Flair is done fighting a losing battle with her father Ric.
WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair never pulls any punches with what he says...sometimes to a fault according to his daughter and current SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair.
'The Queen' recently spoke with HOT 97 and discussed her outspoken father and would admit after several attempts to control her father's public comments, she's done trying to reign in 'The Nature Boy'.
“I've tried to control that and I realized that I can't," Charlotte admitted. "Whether my dad is my biggest cheerleader, or what, I mean, he's gonna say what he wants to say and I can't persuade him any other way. He thinks he's doing right by me. I know that no one in the world would do anything, other than my dad, would do anything in the world for me, and how much he loves me, and my career means everything to him. So, I'm not gonna I'm gonna try not to fight that battle anymore.”
When asked about Ric's potential return to the company, Charlotte wasn't too sure about it happening but was quick to say the age-old tale of 'never say never'.
“It's wrestling. I mean who's to say my dad is never going to be back at WWE?" Charlotte posited. "Everyone comes and goes. I think it's one of those businesses that you never know. Just because you're not good one day doesn't mean you're great the next day, I've seen people come back that we never thought would come. I mean, especially with someone like my dad who has been a part of the industry for what 50-plus years to say that, maybe he's never going to be back seems wild to me.”
Charlotte is set to defend the SmackDown Women's Championship against Ronda Rousey during night one of WrestleMania 38 on April 2.
