Charlotte has made her decision in regards to WrestleMania.
After Rhea Ripley successfully defended her NXT Women’s Championship at NXT TakeOver: Portland by beating Bianca Belair, Charlotte rushed to the ring and attacked Ripley. Once Ripley was on the mat after being ambushed by Charlotte, the former Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion announced that she has selected Ripley as her opponent for WrestleMania 36.

Charlotte earned the right to a championship match at WrestleMania after she won the Women’s Royal Rumble match in late January. Throughout the past few weeks, Ripley appeared on Raw to try and goad Charlotte into selecting her as her WrestleMania opponent and Charlotte even made an appearance on NXT earlier this month to tease an announcement that never came.
Charlotte is looking to become the second woman in history to hold the NXT Women’s Championship on multiple occasions with the other woman being Shayna Baszler. Charlotte first won the NXT title in May 2014 and held it all the way until February 2015.
This is the second title match that is set for WrestleMania with the other one being Drew McIntyre, the winner of the Men’s Royal Rumble match, going up against the Universal Champion, currently Brock Lesnar.
WrestleMania 36 is set to take place on April 5 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. For full results of NXT TakeOver: Portland, check out Fightful's live coverage of the event here.
