Chelsea Green always knew she would make history.
Chelsea Green defeated Michin at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event to become the first-ever WWE Women's United States Champion. After her victory, she spoke to Byron Saxton for a video released by WWE on social media.
Chelsea Green said Byron Saxton can be as surprised as he wants to be, but she knows she's worked her entire life to be an "overnight success."
"Well, Brian, I always knew this was going to happen, so I know you're surprised, and that's so cute, but I'm not. I've been doing this for 10 years. I worked my entire life to be an overnight success, and this is my time. This is my night, red, white, and Green," she said.
Asked how she feels about etching her name into the history books, Green had a very simple response: "Duh!"
"I would say, 'Duh.' I'm in the history books where I belong. I should have been there 3 years ago, but I was released. I should have been there in 2015, but I wasn't hired. So now is the time. Now is the freaking time!"
Chelsea Green then said she was going to Disneyland and needed to hop on a plane.
