Chris Jericho firmly believes AEW is still the winner in the Wednesday night ratings war.
After the ratings and television viewership numbers for both AEW and NXT programs this week were released, Jericho went to Twitter to proclaim AEW's victory. Although NXT drew more viewers with the Great American Bash this week compared to AEW's Fyter Fest, AEW beat NXT in the ratings within the 18-49 demographic.
Jericho's tweet focused on AEW's ratings, saying that television networks focus on the ratings in the 18-49 demographic.
Here’s a lesson about television ratings kids. Last night @AEWrestling was NUMBER 6 in the 18-49 demo. To tv networks & advertisers it’s the ONLY number that matters and we were up 31% in that area! So once again #AEWDynamite is the REAL winner in the Wed night ratings war! pic.twitter.com/JzZU5X779t

NXT outdrew AEW in viewership for the last two weeks, but in both weeks, AEW had the higher ratings in the 18-49 demo. NXT this week drew 792,000 viewers and a 0.22 rating in the 18-49 demographic, good for 13th on cable for the day. AEW this week drew 748,000 viewers and a 0.29 rating, good for sixth best on cable for the day.
