Chris Jericho: Real Personalities Don't Shine Through In WWE, It's Cartoonish In A Bad Way

Chris Jericho hasn't been afraid to speak up about issues plaguing WWE. At the beginning of Jericho's list is "scripted promos," which he believes holds back certain WWE talent.

Speaking on the Keepin' It 100 podcast, Jericho revealed that he watched WWE Survivor Series, and while he enjoyed the show, he was once again turned off by the dialogue.

AJ Francis Confirms Fightful Report That He Was Backstage At AEW Worlds End

"I watched Survivor Series, and I thought it was really good, but they have this promo with Daniel Bryan and Miz, and it's like, 'For the sake of our children and families, you have to stop The Fiend, the nightmare of The Fiend.' It's like, nobody talks like that. You can still put the guy over big time but what's he going to do, break into your house and steal your kids? It's not believable. It's cartoonish in a bad way. What we did was Scorpio was cartoonish too -- as if the guy would allow himself to be talked into a Championship match -- but it worked because you had the right characters to do it," said Jericho.

The AEW World Champion continued, believing top WWE talent would be better off in AEW as their personalities would be able to shine.

"If you had a guy like Roman Reigns in AEW, he'd be so over because Roman is legit a real cool dude," he said. "He's a great guy, super cool. He's a guy you want to hang out with. They never portray him like that on the show. They always give him these promos to read and the real Roman Reigns never shines through. The real Seth Rollins never really shines through. These are guys that have their own unique personality so don't try and write stuff for them, just have them go out there and do it."

AEW is currently teasing a feud between Jericho and a guy Reigns and Rollins know very well; Jon Moxley. Wednesday's episode of AEW Dynamite ended with Jericho having a staredown with Moxley from the stands.
