Chyna apparently was planning to go to rehab shortly before she died.
Audio of the final voicemail Chyna left was released by People Magazine on Thursday -- also the day signifiying the one-year anniversary of her death. The former wrestling star died on April 20, 2016, after overdosing on a combination of alcohol and prescription drugs.
Chyna was leaving the voicemail for Erik Angra, a documentary filmaker.
“I am doing much better," Chyna said in the message. "It's a beautiful day outside. All the sailboats are out today, it’s a beautiful day.”
Chyna went on to note her plans to check into a rehab center, located in Malibu, CA.
“I go for two weeks and drink cucumber juice and whatever, and swim around … I can get a therapy doggy the right way,” she said, also inquiring as to the health of Angra, noting, “I want to make sure you’re okay, and I’m here.”
Angra has made a documentary about Chyna. Entitled "Wrestling with Chyna", it is set for release this fall.
Chyna was part of the original incarnation of D-Generation X, along with Shawn Michaels and Triple H. She went on to hold both the WWF Women's Title and the Intercontinental Title, while also competing in "all-male" events such as the Royal Rumble and King of the Ring tournament.
