Ciclón Ramirez Passes Away At Age 64

Ciclon Ramirez has sadly passed away.

The news of the lucha libre legend's passing was shared on Facebook on Tuesday, March 4. Record reports that Ramirez passed away after suffering a heart attack.

At the time of his passing, Ramirez was 64 years old. His career in wrestling spanned all the way back to 1985, the year of his wrestling debut.

Throughout his career, Ramirez primarily competed in CMLL but also had matches in AAA, IWRG, and Promo Azteca. He is also a former CMLL World Welterweight Champion.

Ramirez's final match came on August 30, 2024 when he teamed with El Hijo del Fishman & Mascara Sagrada NG to face Hijo del Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan, and Emperador Azteca.

Ramirez's family will live on in the world of wrestling, as his son, Ciclon Ramirez Jr, is an active wrestler on Mexico's independent scene. His nephew, Xelhua, is a rising star in CMLL.
