CM Punk Addresses 'Cancer' Reputation And Problems From AEW Following Him To WWE

CM Punk comments on those who comment about him.

CM Punk's time in AEW only lasted two years, and ended when he got into a backstage altercation with Jack Perry at AEW All In in 2023. One year prior, Punk aired his grievances with AEW EVPs Matthew Jackson, Nicholas Jackson, and Kenny Omega at AEW All Out, which led to a backstage altercation between Punk, Ace Steel, and the EVPs.

When Punk returned to WWE at WWE Survivor Series 2023, many commented on his reputation given how things went in AEW, and how his first WWE run ended in 2014.

Appearing on The Masked Man Show at Fanatics Fest NYC, it was noted by co-host Kazeem Famuyide "a lot of people expected those same things (that happened at AEW) to carry over (to WWE)."

Punk replied, "That's all bullshit. None of that stuff is reality. 'Oh, he's a cancer.' Listen, not everybody gets nice me. I treat you accordingly. If you're a piece of shit, and you act that way to me, I will treat you that way. If you're nice, you're smiling, you want to have a good time, let's have a good time. I'm all hugs. It's not like I'm two different people, there are just certain people, the ones that spread those lies and say those things about me, because they can't control me and they can't control the things I do and say. They absolutely hate that, so they try to control the way other people feel or see me. It's bullshit. You're going to have to make your own judgment and draw your own conclusion."

Punk has spoken highly of his time in WWE since his return, and Chief Content Officer Triple H has been excited to work with Punk.
