CM Punk Borrows From Billy Madison Dodgeball Scene, Seemingly Responds To AEW Return Announcement

CM Punk seemingly responds to AEW announcing his return.

Punk hasn't appeared on AEW programming since AEW All Out 2022. He was subsequently suspended for his involvement in a physical altercation with Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson). His looming return has been rumored for months, and on the May 31 episode of AEW Dynamite, Tony Khan confirmed that Punk will return to AEW on the debut episode of AEW Collision. Fightful Select previously reported that Punk was planned for the June 17 event, but his return hadn't been officially announced.

Shortly after the announcement, Punk seemingly responded to the news. On his Instagram stories, he shared a link to the dodgeball scene in "Billy Madison", where Adam Sandler plays a grown man who goes back to elementary, middle, and high school. In the dodgeball scene, Billy tells a group of kids they're in "big, big trouble" before he utterly dominates them in the popular game.

Brody King, who has been pictured with Punk on multiple occasions, also posted a clip from the dodgeball scene in response to the announcement about Punk's return.

Dax Harwood, one of Punk's's close friends, also expressed his excitement about the news.

KENTA responded to the news about Punk's return by stating that he is free on June 17. More information is available here.
