CM Punk: I'm Glad The Rock Is Back, I'm Going To Cross Paths With Everybody Sooner Or Later

CM Punk says he's glad The Rock knows his role.

CM Punk is unable to compete as he continues to recover from a torn triceps. He returned on the March 25 episode of WWE Raw and targeted Seth Rollins, The Rock, and Drew McIntyre with a heated promo. Punk then agreed to be the special guest commentator for the World Heavyweight Championship match between Rollins and McIntyre at WWE WrestleMania 40.

In a Raw Exclusive, CM Punk was asked whether his return felt like he thought it would.

“It did. I’m obviously injured. I’m not 100%, I’m not medically cleared, and if feel when I come here, and there’s 16,000-plus people, and you’re responsible for a lot of them being there, this place is sold-out, they’re hanging from the rafters. I feel such a responsibility to want to give them a show, and I can’t right now because I’ve paid the price of being a professional wrestler since I was 15. But I felt I gave them a little bit of that guy. I gave them that CM Punk that they know and love, that they want to see, that dangerous guy on the microphone," Punk said.

Punk was then asked about how he had noted that The Rock had not mentioned him, and Cathy stated that it seemed obvious that Tbe Rock was thinking about him. CM Punk replied by saying that he was glad that The Rock was back, and he would cross paths with everyone eventually.

"I’m glad. I’m glad Rock’s back. It’s good to see that he knows his role, and he’s kept his mouth shut. Anything goes here in this new era of WWE. Me being back, I’m gonna cross paths with everybody sooner or later," Punk said.

Additionally, Kelley asked Punk about doing commentary for the match between Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 40. Punk called himself a five-tool player and noted that commentary might be the best thing for him right now.

"I think Drew would say that we have to figure out something for me to do to justify my bloated contract, but let’s face it, who’s the five-tool player in the WWE right now? It’s this guy. I’d like to maybe try my hand out as a referee, but honestly, I would not be able to be impartial with those two idiots. So maybe commentary is the best thing to do," Punk said.
